EXTERMINATING RATS AND MICE
In various ocasions people used warfarine, a poisonous substance that eliminates the rats, but for some genetic reasons some are resistant to the substance and after being exposed to it they survive, increasing their number and transmitting this gene to the rest of generations. For that reason it will be necessary to investigate new substances so that the rats do not go on generating that resistance.
Rats have a negative response capacity towards the unknown food. In order to control the plagues it is very useful to use instantaneous traps with baits and gummed cardboard that help the extermination of rodents. The mice traps with permanent bait are made with anticlotting baits that begin to be effective from the fourth day on, but even from the consumption of the bait there is a loss of vitality perceived in the movements of the rats. These products in the trap are the least dangerous for humans (children) and for pets. The toxicity is related to the weight of the being about to consume it. They contain a bitter substance that makes it unacceptable for humans, as well as a special ink that dyes the children and pets' mucus when consumed; it can be seen and it can be fought against with K vitamin. The trap of gummed cardboard is a long sticky nontoxic tray, where the rat gets stuck when putting its feet in; the bait can be left in the middle of the tray. The trap is placed in the rats' usual way or near the nests. It is known that in some places, the rats tend to drag their food toward the corners, where they eat it; this can also be considered as a bait point. It is important to eliminate any food or garbage source in the house, to store pet food and seeds in hard hermetic plastic containers in order to eliminate the rats. Place mosquito netting in windows and doors that usually open; if the house has a sloping roof do not allow climbing plants or trees up to the roof.
A way of attacking the rats pest is totally eliminating the possibles entrances from outside. Rats are animals that trasmitt lots of diseases. They attack domestic animals, domestic fowl and from time to time thay attack the human beings. They do it through excrements, urine, saliva and bites. The diseases or their causal agents transform and evolve actively within the rat. The diseases that rats transmit are Leptospirosis, Rage, Triquinosis.
