Often people call it "murine typhus" or "urban"; it is usually transmitted by parasites like fleas or lice, carried by the rats. This disease attacks the human beings in a secondary form, since the main guest is the rat. The symptoms appear about ten days after the bite and include high fever, severe muscle and joints pain,  rigidity, headache, and delirium.

  •               Bubonic Plague: It is caused by the bacterium Yersinia  pestis, being a zoonosis of field rodents that transmits to the human beings by means of the fleas. Well-known from the antiquity, the first world-wide pandemic was registered in ancient Egypt when almost 50% of the population of North Africa, Europe and Western Asia died. The most serious is called The Black Death and it happened in the 14th century and died approximately 25 million people, a third of the world-wide population died because of this disease. This disease meant a before and an after in the social habits specially in the hygienic ones. Today it is still an active disease; it can suddenly manifest itself with very high fever, chills, intense thirst, nausea and malaise. It is characterized by the appearance of some bubboes in the groin, the neck and armpits, very painful and which ooze pus and bleed. Due to these inflammations there are another new ones forming in the skin and bringing other secondary effects, forming bluish blisters and pustules.

  •                The Chagas Disease: It is the name with which is called the infection in the human being caused by a protozoan of the order Kinetoplastida, called Trypanosoma cruzi. This disease occurs exclusively in South America, where it affects at least 18 countries in the continent, in two ecological zones, according to its behavior: in the Southern Cone, where the vector is within the houses of the people and the rest of Latin America, where the vector lives both inside and outside the houses.
