It is a very polyphagous pest, highlighting for its economic importance the damages that occur in carnation greenhouses and also in a localized way in citrus.
The caterpillar is variable in color, almost always olive green, but it can also be gray, brown or yellowish. The head is brown. Its size becomes 15 to 20 mm and passes through 7 larval states. The eggs are oval and flattened, 1 mm. They put them in oval plastons that resemble drops of wax. The plastón is greenish at first, turning yellowish later.
